Leica M3 body chrome, single stroke, for repair/parts, OUTLET
Condition report:
This Leica M3 single stroke body is in need for some servicing/repairs. The camaera itself looks quite good, especially regarding its 60+ years age. The topplate has very minimal wear, some light (meter related) marks but no heavy denting or bumped corners. Advance arm actualy feels rather nice and smooth. Speeds can be set easily. Counter mechanism counts as intended, reset works as well although being a bit slow to dail back to 0. Take up spool is ok. When looking through the viewfinder you can see the framelines well. Overall the view is a bit dim, common for early Leica M3 generation. When looking from the front of the viewfinder you can spot a dark brown stain in the skewed part of the rangefinder prism. Most likely this is separation. When using the camera as intended you don’t really see this staining, but it indicates the RF system will most likely to maybe become a bit more dim over time. Piece of vulcanite missing on left side of film door. Bottom plate and latch work perfectly fine. Vulcanite overall in fairly good shape. The main issue for selling this cameras as-is / in need for service is of course the shutter speeds. This has been reflected in the price. The slow speeds drag and show capping (dark parts of the frame). We just machine tested the quick speeds and it confirms: only the 1/60th speed is usuable in current shape. The faster speeds are 1/2 to 1 full stop unbalanced between left and right. The slower speeds are showing the capping: some parts of the film don’t even get exposed. This shutter issue is a piece of cake for most Leica technicians, the RF part is a bit of a gamble, but after shutter service this might be a great and affordable M3 to use for Visoflex or Wide angle purposes like you would with an M1 or MD-2 camera!

Items that do not pass these tests get either serviced by us or one of our partner service centers. A product being marked as outlet does not directly mean it’s unusuable. In some occasions we decide to sell something as-is because of various reasons:
- * The product still is functional, but with remarks or limitations.
- * The product is mainly aimed at collectors for decorative purposes.
- * The product is a digital camera or lens, in which we don’t specialize.
- * The product will need an economically unprofitable repair, but still has many valuable parts or purpose for others with their own repair attempt.
OUTLET items are sold for heavily reduced prices. They are not serviced or cleaned to perfection. They therefore come without any warranty.

BTW / Margeregeling:
Op al onze tweedehands artikelen is de margeregeling van toepassing (0% BTW). Omdat er geen belasting over deze producten wordt verrekend kunt u deze ook niet terugvragen via de belastingaangifte. U kunt de factuur uiteraard wel gewoon als kosten in uw onderneming verrekenen. Op nieuwe artikelen zoals film of batterijen zit gewoon 21% BTW.

Naast een bezoek aan onze fysieke winkel te Delft is het natuurlijk ook mogelijk een aankoop te doen via de webshop. Wij verzenden onze pakketten 1 maal per week, op donderdagen. Bestellingen geplaatst vóór donderdag 11:00 zullen diezelfde week nog worden verzonden. Wij verzenden uitsluitend met PostNL en FedEx. Betalen:

Nieuwe binnenkomers:
Wij werken hard om de collectie en voorraad op niveau te hebben. Elke dinsdag plaatsen wij +/- 50 nieuwe artikelen variërend van camera’s, lenzen en de mooiste accessoires. Omdat wij een enorme aanvraag hebben kan de voorraad soms hard gaan.
Bent u op zoek naar een specifiek product maar staat deze momenteel niet online? U kunt zich inschrijven voor onze gratis nieuwsbrief en zo op de hoogte blijven van de nieuwste binnenkomers. Op die manier krijgt u elke dinsdag melding zodra de nieuwe producten worden geüpload.
Garantie:
Alle producten die wij verkopen in de winkel of op de website zijn uitvoerig getest*. Op vrijwel alle producten ontvangt u daarom ook een passende garantie, dit staat per product aangegeven. Wij hebben een unieke positie in de markt omdat wij een nauwe samenwerking hebben met Amsterdam Camera Repairs. Ook beschikken wij over zeldzame testapparatuur en de mogelijkheid eventuele defecten vrijwel altijd weer te repareren. Is er iets niet te repareren in de garantie? Dan bieden wij je altijd een nette oplossing. Zelfs als uw garantie is verstreken assisteren we graag in een eventuele oplossing voor uw probleem. We have a beautiful physical store in the middle of old town Delft NL. We invite you to visit. In the store you can see, try and buy all the products that are for sale on our website. VAT and taxes:
On all our used products no VAT is charged. Products are sold under the Dutch margin sceme. Because no VAT is applied you can not get this back. On new products such as rolls of film or batteries the regular 21% BTW is charged. For some countries like USA, UK, Switzerland and most countries outside the EU a import fee may apply. This depends on the customs in the country of your destination.
Shipping:
If you are not able to visit the physical store in Delft it of course is possible to purchase through our webshop. Our international parcels are send out with FedEx couriers every Thursday. Fully paid orders before Thursdays 11:00 AM will be shipped that same day. We exclusevily work with FedEx, shipping in EU are usually delivered in a matter of a few business days. Outside EU usually within a week.

Warranty:
All the products in our store and online have been tested very carefully. You will therefore receive a fitting warranty on almost all of those products. How much warranty you get is listed per product. We have a unique position in the market because we have a close partnership with Amsterdam Camera Repairs. We work with some rare testing equipment and have the possibility to repair almost everything. If something can not be fixed we will of course find another solution. Main specs of the Leica M3:
The Leica M3 is a fully mechanical camera, meaning it does not need batteries to operate. There is no internal light meter, this could be had with the Leica Meter attachments. Shutter speeds range from 1/1000th down 1 full second, bulb mode is also present. Advancing the film and cocking the shutter is done with 1 lever on the backside of the camera. The camera also has flash sync options and features a built in selftimer.The widest frameline is for 50mm lenses, but Leica later released a series of 35mm lenses specially made for the M3. These lenses had goggles installed on them which converted the viewfinder to a 35mm angle of view.Leica M3 variants:
The first generation M3 had a double stroke film advancing. This was later replaced by a single stroke operation. The earlier generations can be recognized by the screws in the top plate and the buddah ear shaped strap lugs. Serialnumbers of the M3 started at 700.000 and continued to high in the 1.164.000 range. More than 200.000 copies have been sold during its 12 year lifespan. Black Leica M3's are very rare, they can sell for more than 10 times the price of a normal chrome one.Rather have a fully mechanical Leica M rangefinder with framelines for 35mm lenses?
